Introducing C-Bond Slow Cure: More Working Time, More Control
Not Every CA Glue Needs to Cure in Seconds.
More Working Time. More Control. More Creative Possibilities.
CECCORP is proud to introduce C-Bond Slow Cure, an innovative new generation of cyanoacrylate (CA) adhesives developed specifically for woodturners, woodworkers, and craftsmen.
For decades, CA adhesives have been known for one major advantage: their ability to bond materials within seconds. But what happens when instant curing becomes a limitation rather than an advantage?
At CECCORP, we decided to approach CA technology differently.
Instead of making CA glue cure faster, we developed a formulation that gives craftsmen more time to work.
The result is C-Bond Slow Cure, a specially formulated adhesive offering extended working time while maintaining the versatility of cyanoacrylate technology.
Available in Thin and Extra Thin viscosities, this new product range opens exciting possibilities in four important woodworking applications.
Woodturning Finishes , Take Control of Every Coat
Achieving a flawless CA finish can be challenging when traditional adhesives cure almost immediately upon application.
C-Bond Slow Cure gives woodturners additional time to spread, overlap, and adjust each coat before curing.
Initial field tests demonstrated that the adhesive can produce smooth, seamless layers with excellent clarity and shine. The first coat penetrates the wood surface and provides a foundation that can be lightly sanded before additional coats are applied.
Subsequent layers build gloss, and after appropriate finishing and polishing, the result can be a beautiful, mirror-like surface.
In some tests, only two coats were needed to achieve a high gloss appearance.
The advantage: More control during application, fewer rushed movements, and greater freedom to create a professional looking finish.
Decorative Inlays, A New Opportunity for Artistic Woodworking
One of the most remarkable results from our initial field testing involved decorative metal-powder inlays.
Traditional thin CA adhesives often cure almost instantly when mixed with metal powders such as brass, copper, or aluminum. This rapid reaction leaves very little time to mix, position, or adjust decorative inlays.
C-Bond Slow Cure demonstrated significantly different behaviour.
During testing, woodturners were able to mix the adhesive with metal powders without immediate flash curing, providing valuable working time to prepare and apply decorative mixtures.
The advantage: Greater freedom to create detailed metal powder inlays, decorative patterns, and artistic effects that are difficult to achieve with conventional fast curing CA adhesives.
Wood Repairs, More Time for Precision
Filling cracks, voids, knots, and small cavities is a common challenge in woodworking.
Many craftsmen use CA adhesives mixed with wood dust or wood chips to repair imperfections. However, conventional CA adhesives may cure before the mixture can be properly prepared and applied.
C-Bond Slow Cure extends the available working time, allowing woodworkers to mix the adhesive with wood dust or chips and place the mixture more accurately into damaged areas.
The advantage: Easier handling, improved application control, and greater flexibility when repairing valuable wooden pieces.
Spalted Wood Stabilization, More Time to Penetrate
Spalted wood is highly valued for its distinctive natural patterns, but its porous and partially deteriorated structure can make it difficult to work with.
Traditional CA adhesives may begin curing too quickly, limiting their ability to penetrate the wood structure.
In early field trials, C-Bond Slow Cure provided additional time for penetration before curing, making the stabilization process easier and more effective for the testers.
The advantage: A promising new approach for woodturners working with delicate, porous, and spalted wood.
Developed Through Innovation. Evaluated by Craftsmen.
At CECCORP, we believe the best adhesive innovations come from understanding how products perform in real applications.
C-Bond Slow Cure has undergone initial practical evaluations by experienced woodturners, with encouraging results in finishing, decorative inlays, repairs, and wood stabilization.
These early trials also demonstrated the potential of extended cure CA technology to solve challenges that traditional instant adhesives cannot easily address.
And this is only the beginning.
As we continue developing this technology, we see opportunities to expand the range with additional viscosities and application specific formulations.
